Wells-next-the-Sea - known locally as simply 'Wells' - is a small town on the North Norfolk coast with a population of under 2500, at least it did according to the 2001 census; the town falls within the Norfolk Coast Area of Beauty (AONB) and is one of several North Norfolk coastal towns that are popular with tourists.
